The AREA Fund

The Area Fund

The AREA Fund was created by the Ford family in 2010 to provide a funding source for the wide variety of asbestos-related research, education and advocacy initiatives that individuals and organizations are undertaking. It is the only fund in Canada setup for this specific charitable purpose. Our mission is to raise funds for asbestos-related research, education and advocacy projects, and to raise awareness of the devastating effects of asbestos use.

PHH ARC Environmental supports the efforts of the AREA Fund to ensure a healthy and safe workplace. Through our partnership with the AREA Fund it is our objective to ensure all workers are protected from workplace hazards related to asbestos exposure.

As part of PHH ARC Environmental’s support we are asking that you support the AREA Fund’s 2nd annual letter writing campaign to request donations for this much needed fund. We appreciate that in these tough economic times it’s difficult to decide where to direct funds that are ear-marked for donation. Would it make your decision easier if we told you that asbestos-related diseases are the number one occupational killer in BC and right across Canada, and that the death toll will continue to climb in the coming years? Please know that by donating to the AREA Fund you are directly supporting vital asbestos-related research, education and advocacy projects — the AREA Fund has no employees; all work is done by volunteers.

For further information regarding the AREA Fund’s letter writing campaign please see attached link:
