Client's Issue and Needs

Client had redundant buildings from an old school facility on site which required assessment, remediation of hazardous materials and contaminated soil, and demolition of buildings and below grade structures.  PHH ARC identified contaminated soil and asbestos in building materials.  Client required delineation and remediation of contaminated soils, as well as management of asbestos abatement and demolition project.

Our Services and Solutions

PHH ARC provided training for workers and supervision for the asbestos abatement.  We also conducted an intrusive environmental site assessment to delineate extent of impacted soils.  An excavation program was conducted.  Soils were treated on-site remediation using a bio-cell, eliminating trucking and landfill costs.   Project management and supervision of the building demolition was also provided by PHH ARC.

Outcome
Daylu Dena Council used their own equipment to excavate impacted soils.  In addition, local forces were trained to perform the necessary asbestos abatement and provided support services for the demolition project.  Asbestos abatement and demolition were completed in 2003.  Further environmental work is scheduled for 2005 at the site to aid in redevelopment of the property
