Sediment and Erosion Control (SEC) is now a required component of many constructions requiring excavation. Municipalities have specific requirements concerning SEC.
What is Sediment and Erosion Control?
- SEC prevents loss of soil during construction by stormwater runoff
- SEC prevents sedimentation of storm sewers or receiving water bodies
- SEC controls the amount of aerial sedimentation (i.e. dust and airborne particles)
