Environmental Initial Response
At the end of this course, participants will be able to identify and assess dangerous goods information and apply a basic concept of First Response.

First Responders at the awareness level are expected to recognize the presence of dangerous goods, protect themselves, secure the area and contact trained personnel.

PHH ARC Environmental Limited uses the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standard 472 as the minimum guideline in the design of this course. It depends greatly on the participant's ability to retrieve information through the use of the North American Emergency Response Guide, and apply that knowledge in a basic concept of First Response.

Additionally, it emphasizes the importance of responder safety and demonstrates proper actions to protect First Responders.

The course focuses on:

  • initial identification and risk assessment
  • a concept of first response

Environmental Management Systems
An environmental management system is a method used by organizations to control and minimize their risk of exposure to environmental liabilities. Companies who have implemented an environmental management system have also discovered that it is easier to obtain financing, shareholders, and reduce insurance premiums. Some of the less tangible benefits include better relations with employees, customers, and the community and with regulatory authorities.

This course is recommended for Environmental Managers, Building Owners and Managers, Insurance Managers, Plant Managers, Risk Management Professionals and Health & Safety Professionals.
